How to keep your train drivers cool at + 55 C?
DC Airco is proud to announce their new heavy duty rooftop air conditioner designed for use in high ambient up to +55 C. Carefully designed and climate chamber tested, it is now available on order.
This very efficient air conditioner is available in 3 power versions and a number of options.
Power: 74 VDC or 400 VAC or Hydraulic compressor

- Manufactured to new EU fire legislation according to EN45545
- Fresh air intake 60-300 m3/h according to EN 14813

Anti idling cooling solutions for Dump trucks
The DC13005 rooftop air conditioner is designed for heavy duty applications operators cabs and electrical cabinets on all kind of vehicles such as earthmoving machinery, hydraulic excavators, hydraulic rope excavators, crawler, tractors, loaders, wheel loaders, dumper trucks, cranes, forklift, trucks and other heavy mobile equipment. The robust housing is made of powder coated zinc plated steel colour RAL 7035. The inbuilt premium PLC controller shows all settings and fault codes.
The very efficient air conditioner combines a very low consumption with a high cooling output and is fully dc powered. The cooling duty of this fully DC powered unit is 2-3 higher than a normal 230 VAC and 6 times higher... -
Onyxrail to Install DC Airco - Cab Air Con on Class 317/7 for LORO
The expanded LOROL fleet of Class 317/7 Units will be fitted with DC Airco Cab Air Con by Onyxrail on a programme that will deliver an improvement in driver amenities for these Units.
Onyxrail were delighted to be awarded the contract by LOROL to integrate and install the equipment which is manufactured by DC Airco of the Netherlands.
DC Airco equipment is fitted as an aftermarket enhancement to many fleets both in the UK and Internationally it provides a real uplift in driver comfort and amenity. In addition to Class 317/7 DC Airco equipment has recently been fitted by Onyxrail to Class 323.

Anti-idling – fuel saving
In hot environments, operators must keep their vehicles idling when not operated for safety and
health reasons. This idling affects fuel consumption and the engine wear unnecessarily and is not
needed when using our highly efficient DC Airco air conditioners. Because they are battery powered without the need to keep the engine running. Thus maintain more safety for workers and decrease fuel consumption by more than 30%. Return investment within 6-12 months.

Annual Imech rolling stock Luncheon in London on March 4 (DC Air conditioning)
DC Airco MD Klaas Schimmel was invited by Onyxrail UK to attend the Annual Imech Luncheon for rolling stock in London on March 4 .
The Imech luncheon was organized by the UK Institution of Mechanical Engineers –Railway Division. In total 1300 railway people attended the luncheon. One of the speakers was Sir Peter Hendy chairman of Network Rail. According to Klaas it is a well organised event and a very good networking opportunity.
Special thanks to Kevin Lane and Terry Jefferies of Onyxrail who hosted 2 of tables with interesting guests.

DC Airco to boost output with opening of a new manufacturing facility - January 2015
DC Airco expects to boost production with opening of their new assembly plant. The plant will be certified according to ISO 9001:2015.
This plant is meant to support DC Airco’ s  growing customer base in Rail, Mining, Telecom ,Defence and other markets. The construction  started in April 2014 with driving concrete piles in the ground and is completed November  2014. Production started middle of December.
The state of the art –low carbon footprint- facility is equipped with energy saving LED lights. The floor heating receives waste heat from a nearby biomass power plant.

The Midland fleet of Class 323 Units have been fitted with DC powered Cab Air Conditioners manufactured by DCAirco and provided by Onyxrail Limited, with all major materials for mounting the equipment provided by its sister company Brentto Industry.
These direct current air conditioners are specially made for rail / rolling stock vehicle's
No need of big inverters because the unit runs completly on 110 volt DC.Â

DC Airco Driver Cab Air Conditioning Equipment for Stagecoach Supertram
DC Airco have completed a project to supply Cab Air Conditioning equipment to Stagecoach Supertram for their fleet of 25 x 3 Car Supertrams. The trams which were built in 1992 by Siemens-Duewag of Düsseldorf, Germany, are being invested in by Stagecoach group to replace the original 380Vac 100Hz equipment with a modern 24Vdc monobloc unit.

DC Airco to build new assembly plant for its energy efficient heavy duty AC+ DC powered air conditioners in Alkmaar the Netherlands  - July 2014
DC Airco announces the investment in a new manufacturing facility for its heavy duty industrial products for telecom, rail, people movers, vehicles and defence projects.
This plant is meant to support DC Airco’s growing customer base in Rail, Mining, Telecom and Defence. The construction has started in June 2014 with driving concrete piles in the ground and will be completed end of 2014.

LNWR Select DC Airco Cab Air Cooling for Arriva Class 158
The Arriva fleet of Class 158 Units are to receive DC Airco Cab Air Cooling provided by Transys Projects Limited. Transys Projects were delighted to be awarded the contract to integrate and then provide first unit installation assistance for this equipment which is manufactured by DC Airco.
