Battery Storage Container Equipped with High Efficiency Climate System

Friday, May 16, 2025

A large scale battery storage container has been equipped with an advanced thermal management system designed to maintain optimal operating conditions throughout the year. The installation uses a customized version of the DC Airco DC12700 unit, configured for 850 Vdc operation to integrate seamlessly with high voltage battery energy storage systems.

To maximize battery lifespan and power performance, the unit provides both cooling and heating through a reversible heat pump system, ensuring precise temperature regulation in all seasons. For colder regions, an integrated electric heater supplies additional heating capacity, keeping the container within the ideal temperature range required for reliable battery operation.

With a cooling performance of approximately 3,2 kW and the capability to operate effectively in ambient temperatures up to 45 °C, the DC12700 protects battery modules from overheating during high load charging and discharging cycles. Its airflow capacity of around 800 m³/h ensures stable and uniform cooling across the container, preventing localized heat spots in tightly packaged battery arrays.

The unit’s rugged construction, featuring a zinc plated steel housing and durable powder coated finish, ensures dependable service in demanding industrial environments. Fully factory charged and pre tested, it installs quickly and supports advanced monitoring and control through integrated electronics.

By equipping the battery container with this climate control solution, operators benefit from extended battery life, greater operational reliability, and improved year round energy storage performance.
