
Rooftop Air Conditioning for Rail Milling Train
DC Airco has supplied its DC24001 railway rooftop air conditioner for a rail milling train, providing reliable climate control for demanding track-maintenance operations. Designed for locomotive operator cabs, the DC24001 complies with EN 45545-2 fire protection requirements, Hazard Level 3 (HL3). The system delivers 7 kW cooling capacity and 5 kW heating capacity, combining high efficiency with low energy consumption for year-round operation.
The unit operates on a 400 Vac primary supply with 24 Vdc secondary voltage, with a 230 Vac version also available. An integrated PLC controller with diagnostic display enables real-time system monitoring and dependable control. Reliable performance is ensured at ambient temperatures up to 52 °C.
Built from 1.5 mm stainless steel with a RAL 7035 powder coating, the housing offers excellent resistance to corrosion and wear. Optional advanced control allows remote system management and online monitoring, while alternative configurations and customisations are available to suit specific project requirements. This project underlines DC Airco’s capability to deliver robust HVAC solutions for specialised railway maintenance vehicles.
