Monday, August 8, 2011

DC Airco has successfully supplied its DC13016 rooftop air conditioner for the South Yorkshire Supertram network in the United Kingdom. The heavy-duty rooftop unit is designed for rolling stock operator cabs and complies with EN 45545-2 fire protection requirements, Hazard Level 3 (HL3). With a cooling capacity of 3,9 kW, the system combines low energy consumption with high-efficiency performance, even at ambient temperatures above 50 °C.

The DC13016 operates on 24 Vdc (optional 400/800 Vdc) and features an integrated PLC controller with diagnostic display for real-time monitoring and redundant operation. The robust housing, made from 1.5 mm zinc-plated steel with RAL 7035 powder coating, ensures long-term durability in demanding rail environments. This project further strengthens DC Airco’s position as a reliable partner for HVAC solutions in rolling stock and heavy mobile equipment.
