PT INKA Locomotives Upgraded with New DC Airco Cab Cooling Systems

PT INKA (Persero), Indonesia’s leading rolling stock manufacturer, has retrofitted several of its locomotives with modern cab cooling systems supplied by DC Airco. The upgrade enhances driver comfort and operational safety across a range of PT INKA’s locally produced locomotive platforms.

The retrofit uses a heavy duty 24vdc split type air conditioning system engineered for railway environments. Designed for reliable performance in demanding tropical climates, the system provides strong cooling output and stable temperature control inside the operator cab. This supports locomotive crews during long operations in high heat and humidity, conditions that are common across Indonesia’s diverse rail network.

The compact split unit layout allows seamless installation on existing locomotives without major structural modifications. Its rugged construction and vibration resistant design ensure dependable operation on both mainline and industrial tracks. The system is also equipped with modern electronic controls to support consistent performance during extended service cycles.
