DC Airco Designs and Produces HVAC Unit for SBB Cargo Re 420 Locomotives.

DC Airco has designed and produced the Termogamma LGF 5 air-conditioning unit for SBB Cargo AG, installed on Re 420 locomotives operating across Switzerland. Specifically developed for driver cab applications, the Termogamma LGF 5 delivers a cooling capacity of 5,4 kW and a heating capacity of 3,0 kW, ensuring reliable year-round climate control for locomotive operators. The unit operates on a 230 Vac power supply, making it well suited for the electrical architecture of the Re 420 fleet.

Engineered for demanding railway environments, the system combines high efficiency with low energy consumption, supporting operator comfort while maintaining dependable performance in daily freight operations. This project demonstrates DC Airco’s capability to design and manufacture custom HVAC solutions tailored to specific rolling stock platforms and operator requirements.
