Driver Cab HVAC Solution for Railway Maintenance Locomotives

DC Airco has delivered a driver cab HVAC solution for a railway maintenance locomotive, providing reliable heating and cooling to ensure operator comfort during demanding maintenance operations.

The installed DC9329 split HVAC system is designed specifically for railway driver cabs and delivers 3,5 kW of cooling capacity. The indoor unit includes integrated 1,5 kW electric heaters, enabling effective cab heating during cold operating conditions. The system shown operates on a 400 Vac primary supply with 24 Vdc control and is also available in a 230 Vac version to suit different onboard power configurations.

Thanks to its split design, the HVAC system can be flexibly installed within restricted vehicle layouts. Robust construction and compliance with EN 45545 2 HL3 fire safety standards ensure reliable operation in the harsh conditions typical of railway maintenance service. By maintaining stable cab temperatures, the DC Airco driver cab HVAC solution supports operator comfort, reduces fatigue, and contributes to safe and efficient maintenance operations.
