Driver Cab Air Conditioning for Class 317/7 – LOROL

United Kingdom – A driver cab air conditioning upgrade has been carried out on Class 317/7 electric multiple units operated by LOROL (London Overground Rail Operations Ltd), improving operator comfort and supporting reliable day to day service delivery.

The project features the DC Airco Cab Air Con system, specifically designed for railway driver cab applications. Powered by the onboard 110 Vdc supply, the system delivers efficient and stable cooling while meeting the operational and safety demands of modern rolling stock.

Engineered for rail environments, the compact split unit design allows seamless integration into the Class 317/7 cab layout while providing dependable cooling for both the driver working area and onboard electronics. Robust construction and low power consumption ensure reliable performance throughout long service hours.

This installation supports LOROL’s ongoing efforts to enhance driver working conditions, fleet reliability, and passenger service performance, while extending the operational life of the Class 317/7 fleet.
