Climate Control Solution for Autonomous Vehicles
DC Airco supplied an integrated climate control and thermal management solution for 2getthere’s GRT autonomous vehicles, with all systems specifically engineered for reliable operation at ambient temperatures up to 52 °C.
Passenger climate control is provided by the DC 25000 ceiling mounted HVAC system, delivering up to 7 kW of cooling capacity from a high voltage dc power supply. The lightweight aluminium unit ensures stable cabin temperatures and dependable performance in extreme hot climate deployments.
Filtered ventilation and air quality are managed by the DC FC011 24 Vdc fresh air unit, working in coordination with the main HVAC system to maintain a controlled interior environment without compromising cooling efficiency under high thermal loads.
To protect critical power components, a 6 kW dc battery chiller is integrated to regulate battery and electronics temperatures, supporting system reliability and battery life during sustained operation in harsh environments. Together, these fully dc powered, PLC controlled systems form a robust thermal solution that supports passenger comfort, air quality, and vehicle reliability, even in extreme ambient temperatures up to 52 °C.
