Description

This cab cabinet configured air conditioner (HVAC) model DC23000 is designed for cooling operators/passenger cabs and electrical cabinets on all kind of railway / rolling stock vehicles such as Trams, Metros, and Locomotives DE-AC33C (class 26) build by manufacturers such as EMD, GE, NRE, CAF, Adtranz, General Electric Bombardier, or Siemens powered directly by 74Vdc 400Vac without expencieve additional inverters.

 

 

This cab cabinet configured air conditioner (HVAC) uses a 74VDC control voltage. The 74VDC is lowered to 24VDC via a step-down dc/dc converter protected by a spike and surge filter. The compressor is driven by an oversized electric motor running directly on the 400V (169-405 VAC) 44-106 HZ. The compressor speed varies from 1500-3000 rpm depending on the frequency.

The controls are arranged through a PLC specially designed for climate control.
The inbuilt premium PLC controller shows all settings and fault codes.

Features

The robust housing is made of powder-coated stainless steel (optional zinc plated steel) The premium PLC controller shows all settings and fault codes on a display. Switches and display are on the driver's desk.

The very efficient air conditioner combines a very low consumption with a high cooling output. The cooling duty of this unit is much higher than a normal air conditioner and there is no power surge during startup (soft start).

The optional fresh air can be preheated or precooled before entering the cab. The fresh air intake is a small module with G3 filter that can be placed in or outside the locomotive on a location with easy access. Preferably the air room of the engine. For a dirty/dusty environment the unit can be delivered with an overpressure system according to ISO 10263.

  • EMC  EN 61373  vibration and shock resistance for Rolling Stock.
  • EN 45545-HL 3 for cable and optional for all other non-metal parts.
  • EN 2006/42/EC  Machine Safety regulations

 

Designed for the DE-AC33C (class 26) locomotive built by manufacturers such as EMD, GE, NRE, CAF, Adtranz, General Electric Bombardier, or Siemens

 

The robust housing is made of powder coated zinc plated steel color
RAL 7035.
