We assist our customers to achieve the cooling they need.
Our low power high output units are compact and can be easily installed  on new and legacy trains to enhance passenger and driver comfort.
To reduce development cost and lead time we have developed standard products which can be adapted to fit your application. 
Custom made units are possible as well, but with a minimum of 50 units.

The Advanced controller

 

The Programmable advanced controller in combination with the DCAirco premium controller will bring data, parameters, readings and full control on display and through internet.

Description of the advanced controller.


The advanced controller is the ultimate combination with the premium controller.
This panel is programmable for customer requirements. From simple to complex applications.

With a LCD graphic display that can give the necessary data, parameters and alarms of all premium controllers connected to it.
And it can be used as the master that can control up to 127 products which cares the premium controller.
So with one advanced  controller you are fully in control of the complete system.
System healthy, error codes, and probe readings can be read from the DCAirco products build with the premium controller.

For railway applications it is a good solution as it has its own battery and keeps the info available even when all power is shut down.
For special applications in telecom and underground mining this controller is used as a sequencer.
It has 4 air conditioners connected  to it and  alternate the cooling load and running time keeping 1 unit in redundant

 

 

Stay connected through internet

Another great feature is the Ethernet connection on it.
 This makes it possible to get connected with the system even when it is on the other side of the world.Just an Ethernet connection is needed en through a web based page all readings and parameters can be read and changed. 
This webpage can be reached from PC, laptop, smartphone, or tablet as long as it has an internet connection.


This makes changing the settings in field just as simple as when it is in the factory. Development can be carried out in the field through internet. 
Having this feature  in DCAirco products significantly reduces support and maintenance cost by minimizing call-out charges.
Even when the software on the Advance or Premium controller is not sufficient and needs an update it can be done through internet.
So an small update or a complete update can be done years after the installation.

Description

This split –type air conditioner is designed for railway operators cabs on, locomotives, trains. We have also larger cooling capacities available.
The very efficient air conditioner combines a very low consumption with a high cooling output and is fully dc powered. The cooling duty of this fully DC powered unit is 2-3 higher than a normal AC using with the same cooling and there is no power surge during start up (soft start)
There are 5 types of  indoor evaporators available that are  connected to the under mount  condenser with hoses and cables of up to 25  meter length. The hoses can be disconnected and reconnected  from the condenser without loosing any refrigerant by means of self sealing quick connectors. Therefore is unit is easy to be installed on new or legacy trains. Units are designed to meet :

Description
 

This roof air conditioner is designed to cool railway passenger saloons with mounting in the roof of each vestibule. Multiple units are used to get the desired cooling capacity in the vehicle.
The very efficient air conditioner combines a very low consumption with a high cooling output and is fully dc powered. The cooling duty of this fully DC powered unit is 2-3 higher than a normal AC using with the same cooling and there is no power surge during start up (soft start). The units are delivered with (preheated) fresh air intake and can be designed to fit a existing application. Class 313 Southern
 

The DC Airco 11000 313/2 is in fact a DC 11000 313/1 with different mounting/fixing points.
The DC Airco unit was a part of the refurbishment  project of the 313/2.

The evaporator is located in the vestibule between the driver cab and passenger saloon.
The driver has 2 speed settings for the evaporator ventilator.
And the thermostat is located in the roof section above the driver and set to a fixed temperature.

Class 313 FCC


With a big input from the end customer FCC. With there engineers the location of the evaporator was found in the vestibule. During prototype testing the unit was improved by a air return duct work.

This system is a split unit with a condenser unit mounted on the under frame and a evaporator located in the roof section of the vestibule. The control box and the 2 dc –dc converters are located above the door to the saloon in the same roof section. By 4 70mm air duct hoses the cold air is supplied in to the drivers cab. The air return is take out of the cab by a removable duct.

Class 317

It has a long in the roof mounted evaporator.The class 317 is basically same as the class 313.

This DC Air conditioner is made for the class 66 locomotive.

DC Airco type 11000 gvb is made in 2004 for a new project at the Amsterdam Subway, to cool the operator cabin of a light rail vehicle. The evaporator is wall mounted like the DC 8500 and the condenser is mouted on the underframe
.
This system is 24 VDC but we can supply variants to suit a wide range of power supplies. Drivers had the complained that it was to cold.

DC Airco type 6800 was designed specially for the Amsterdam Subway to cool the driver cabin.
First installs where in beginning of 1999 after 2 years of testing a further  48 units were installed. 
The evaporator is mounted in the roof of the cabin and the condenser unit is installed on the underframe. This system is 24 VDC but we can supply variants to suit a wide range of power supplies.

 

 



 

Class 165  First Great Western


DC Airco type 11000 fgwl is developed to cool the operator cabin of a train from first great western. 
The first units where installed during the summer of 2005 after a testing they installed 112 units in 2007.
