The DC Airco Company is a dynamic and independent company founded in 1990 as Transsolar,
to develop and manufacture energy efficient cooling products that could be operated on solar power.
In 1991 Transsolar started to develop & market battery powered DC fridges for use with solar modules.
The products, named Sunny Fridge are used in the African market place.
After a few years Transsolar received inquiries for 12 and 24 volt DC air-conditioning for vehicles.
As there was nothing in the market except water evaporator coolers which were not functioning very well,
we decided to develop in 1994 a real 12/24 volt unit with a compressor.
After a 2½ years development period, this unique battery powered airco system operates on 12 or 24 volts
DC was ready for manufacture .
As of 1999 a larger model, 2000 Watt/6800 BTU/h was added to the product line.
Since may 2003 there is a larger 3000 watt/10.000 BTU/h unit available with even higher efficiency.
In beginning 2003 the company name is changed into The DC Airco Company.
The product name is changed from Sunny Airco into DC Airco with the launch of 4 new very powerful
air conditioners DC 9000 and DC 4400 rooftop models and DC 10000 and
DC 10000HA wallmount air conditioners for telecom applications.

Normally the COSP of a regular AC powered air conditioning unit is 2.
With 1000 Watts of electrical power one can produce 2000 Watt cooling duty (6800 BTU/h).
The DC Airco uses less than 500 Watts to create the same cooling duty!
DC Airco’s system and compressor have many patents pending.
DC Airco’s compressor is made from aluminum and is very efficient in combination with DC Airco’s system .
The efficiency COSP of the DC Airco is over 4 or more.
The same system is used for custom made split systems for railway applications.
For environmental considerations we use only Ozone friendly cooling agent (R134A) for all our products.
Nowadays many truck drivers drive at night to avoid traffic jams, and sleep in their truck cooled by
a DC Airco during daytime, without the engine running and therefore saving the engine, fuel and the environment.
The DC air conditioner range, with improved efficiencies, is available up to 3 KW/10.000 BTU/h.
For R&D purposes we have: heating chambers and computer data logging.
